Play, Activity & Leisure Ireland
Group insurance scheme

Insurance built by operators, for operators.

Public and employer liability cover has become one of the biggest threats to the Irish activity sector. PALI negotiates collectively so members can access consideration for cover that reflects how our industry actually operates.

Illustrated shield-and-umbrella character protecting playful miniature leisure venues from raindrops
  • 70%+ member access rate
  • Sector-specific underwriting
  • Compliance review included
  • No obligation to proceed

Collective negotiation

One voice with the insurer, better terms than any single venue could secure alone.

Sector-specific cover

Underwritten by an insurer who understands activity risk, not a generic SME policy.

Compliance uplift

Members raise their operational standards through the review, good for you, good for the sector.

How it works

Four steps from application to cover.

  1. 1. Membership review

Confirm you meet PALI's membership and standards criteria for the sector.

  2. 2. Compliance check

Submit safety documentation, procedures and evidence of your risk-management practices.

  3. 3. Insurer assessment

The scheme's independent insurer reviews your submission on its own criteria.

  4. 4. Annual renewal

Ongoing risk reviews and renewal support each policy year, no surprises.

Common questions about the scheme.

Does PALI membership guarantee I'll get insurance?+

No. Membership provides eligibility to apply for consideration. Every application is independently assessed by the scheme's insurer against their own criteria. Acceptance is at the insurer's discretion.

What cover types does the scheme relate to?+

The scheme relates to public liability and employer liability cover appropriate to activity and leisure operators. Full policy terms and limits are provided directly by the insurer during the application process.

What if my venue is already insured elsewhere?+

That's fine, many members use PALI's scheme as an alternative option at renewal, or hold a benchmark quote to inform negotiations with an existing broker.

What does compliance review involve?+

PALI reviews your safety statement, risk assessments, staff training records, incident-reporting practices and operational documentation. We provide templates and guidance to help you close any gaps.

Are there additional fees?+

Insurance premiums are separate from PALI membership and are set by the insurer. There may also be a compliance-review fee, this is confirmed up-front, never hidden.
